POEM: CHOCOLATE

Ensure it isn't frozen
Ensure it isn't melting.
Ensure there's enough,
Though there's never enough.

Deep dark, light brown or snow white.
Do cleanse your palate before each bite.
If you're sharing & caring,
break the squares off right.

Between cookies, in cakes
And in ice-cream shakes.
Pour it as syrup...
On warm pan cakes.

Give it with a flower,
And see its true power
Lick your messy fingers,
as you eat it in a car.

Sprinkle it with vanilla,
Eat it with cheddar cheese,
Raisins, almonds &  berries.
Let it consume you,
However you please.

Imagine its texture,
Milky and silky.
And don't you dare jitter,
if it tastes a little bitter.

Love chocolate,
It's the fruit, of bloody sunshine.
And I like mine served with wine.
